Devika P. Kapoor is an attorney at French & Casey, LLP.  Prior to joining French & Casey, LLP, Ms. Kapoor handled all phases of complex litigation in state and federal courts, including cases involving business and corporate law, contracts, maritime, insurance subrogation and defense, personal injury defense, premises liability, products liability, and employment law matters.  Ms. Kapoor has first-chair trial and appellate experience.  She also has advised clients on business law matters, including corporate formation, trademark and independent contractor agreements.  Ms. Kapoor has managed real estate transactions, negotiated and drafted contracts for the purchase and/or sale of residential or commercial property, and counseled clients in estate planning and the preparation and execution of wills.

Most recently, Ms. Kapoor was selected to the 2016 New York Super Lawyers Rising Star List.

Ms. Kapoor is admitted to practice in the States of New York and New Jersey, as well as before the United States District Courts of the Southern and Northern District of New York and the District of New Jersey.  Ms. Kapoor is a member of the New York Women’s Bar Association; she is also a member of the New York County Lawyers Association, where she provides pro bono legal counseling to individuals seeking advice in landlord/tenant, employment, and family law matters.

Ms. Kapoor received her Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School in 2012, where she achieved a Certificate in Real Estate Law and was awarded the Gold Public Service Award for her devotion to public service.  In law school, Ms. Kapoor interned in the Trial Bureau of the Queens County District Attorney’s Office and the Children’s Law Center.  Ms. Kapoor earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management, cum laude, from Rutgers University in 2008.  While at Rutgers University, Ms. Kapoor interned with Somerset County, New Jersey Office of the Public Defenders, where she gained experience in the defense of adolescents facing juvenile delinquency charges. 

Ms. Kapoor is fluent in Hindi and proficient in Spanish.
