Devika P. Kapoor is an attorney at French & Casey, LLP.  Ms. Kapoor is an experienced litigator who manages all phases of defense litigation in matters involving personal injury, premises liability, products liability, employment discrimination, business and corporate law, property damage, labor law, contract disputes, maritime law, insurance coverage, and subrogation. 

Ms. Kapoor has trial and appellate experience in both New York and New Jersey. 

Additionally, she has advised clients on business law matters, including corporate formation, trademark and independent contractor agreements.  Ms. Kapoor has managed real estate transactions, negotiated and drafted contracts for the purchase and/or sale of residential or commercial property, and counseled clients in estate planning and the preparation and execution of wills.

Ms. Kapoor was selected to the New York Metro Rising Stars list for her excellence in the practice of law, particularly in the area of Personal Injury General Defense Litigation in 2016, 2017, and 2018. 

Ms. Kapoor is admitted to practice in the States of New York and New Jersey, as well as before the United States District Courts of the Southern and Northern District of New York and the District of New Jersey.  She is a member of the New York Women’s Bar Association; she is also a member of the New York County Lawyers Association, where she provides pro bono legal counseling to individuals seeking advice in landlord/tenant, employment, and family law matters. In October 2017, she was awarded for her outstanding work and dedication to the pro bono service, jointly by the New York State Unified Court System Office for Justice Initiatives, The New York County Lawyers Association, and the New York State Bar Association.

Ms. Kapoor received her Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School in 2012, where she also achieved a Certificate in Real Estate Law and was awarded the Gold Public Service Award for her devotion to public service.  In law school, Ms. Kapoor interned with the Trial Bureau of the Queens County District Attorney’s Office where she assisted in drafting motions in limine to exclude certain evidence at trial and in criminal investigations.  She also served as an advocate for children in guardianship, visitation, and custody matters with The Children’s Law Center in Brooklyn, NY.  Ms. Kapoor earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management, cum laude, from Rutgers University in 2008.  While at Rutgers University, Ms. Kapoor interned with Somerset County, New Jersey Office of the Public Defenders, where she gained litigation experience defending adolescents facing juvenile delinquency charges. 

Ms. Kapoor is fluent in Hindi and proficient in Spanish.
