Maria E. Stamatelatos
Maria E. Stamatelatos is an attorney at French & Casey, LLP. Ms. Stamatelatos joined the firm in March 2020. Prior to working at French & Casey, LLP., Ms. Stamatelatos represented indigent New Yorkers in criminal proceedings at the Legal Aid Society of Suffolk County, Inc. in a variety of areas, including all-purposes crimes and DWIs. Ms. Stamatelatos has experience in courtroom advocacy, motion practice, trial preparation, and pre-trial hearings. Ms. Stamatelatos is dedicated to providing zealous representation to each and every one of her clients.
Ms. Stamatelatos was admitted to practice law in the State of New York in December 2018. She earned her Juris Doctor from St. John’s University School of Law. While at St. John’s University, Ms. Stamatelatos was an Articles Editor for the Journal of Civil Rights and Economic Development.
Ms. Stamatelatos is a member of the Hellenic Lawyers Association and the Queens County Women’s Bar Association. Moreover, Ms. Stamatelatos is fluent in Greek.
Additionally, while in law school Ms. Stamatelatos participated in the Domestic Violence Litigation Clinic, where she represented domestic violence victims seeking orders of protection, child custody, and visitation in Family Court and the Domestic Violence Courts. Additionally, Ms. Stamatelatos also assisted clients in applying for U-Visas, VAWA applications, and filing for uncontested divorces.
Ms. Stamatelatos earned her Bachelor of Arts from Fordham University. She majored in International Political Economics, and minored in American Catholic Studies.
